Can I change in the file "/usr/src/slony1-1.0.2/src/slon/sync_thread.c" 
the lines 35 and 36 to

int    sync_interval = 500;
int    sync_interval_timeout = 10000;

to have 0.5 seconds  ??????
 I get no files slon and slonik after compiling and building ... So 
there was errors .
