As for installing Perl components, I have only a couple of comments.

a) DBI appears to be the preferable interface these days; you probably
would prefer to use test_slony_state-dbi.pl rather than the one using
the older (near-deprecated) Pg module.

b) Perl has its own dependancy tracking system for its modules.  It is
almost certain that copying modules one by one will NOT work out,
particularly when you get into modular things like DBI.
