You should be able to configure the Slony service to restart automatically after a configurable delay, and how many times to restart before giving up on restarting it. So you could likely tell it to restart after a minute and never stop trying to start it up. I know I've done something like this before on Windows servers, but not sure if you can do that on W2K server. -Dave
