I do a "plain" pg_dump on the origin node.

To restore, I run pg_restore -l to generate a list of objects,  
comment out anything inside the _REPLICATION schema and any non-data  
resources, then restore into a clean schema generated via the script  
Jan created to make the clean schema :-)
