Building and installing man pages is very hard atm in current 1.1-stable.
Can I still backport my makefile and configure fixes for 1.2? Or is that
too late?

Same thing here. I made a lot of fixes in the 1.2 buildsystem to help
our packagers and I'm sure they would like those fixes in 1.1.5 too.

If you all find that it is too late for that, so be it.
