I have opened up my own "bug218" branch, and added the following patch:

It adds requests for locks on sl_config_lock to remote_worker.c and slonik.c.

The interesting part is that, in many cases, the initial statement locks both
sl_config_lock *and* sl_event_lock, which seems likely to be quite an
improvement in safety.

I'm running regression tests against this right now; if there's some other test
load that is better to try, let me know.
