Please note that cs->currentXid is initialized to InvalidTransactionId inside
of getClusterStatus(), when it creates a new cs. So on the first call for this
cluster, the conditional code is executed and initializes plan_active_log. I do
not see any possible code path how plan_active_log could be the source of your
NULL queries.

Setting the date style to ISO should stick if we simply commit the transaction,
instead of rolling it back.
